Urban Design Group Principals Ronald D. Armstrong, AIA, President and Managing Principal, and Raymond R. Kahl, AIA, are attending the Latin American Infrastructure & Property Development (LAIPD) Summit on August 17-19, 2011 at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FL. Participation in the LAIPD Summit is by invitation only, and the event is designed to bring senior-level executives from Latin Americas infrastructure and property development entities together with prequalified suppliers and consultants specializing in project development, architectural innovation and cutting edge construction.
The LAIPD Summit provides an opportunity for key decision makers to meet qualified partners to form alliances and promote growth in Latin Americas emerging markets. In recent years, the Latin American governments have improved economic policies and are now committed to infrastructure development and job growth. The exclusive business forum includes advanced presentations on construction, financing and sustainable development and provides the participants with opportunities for high-level networking and one-on-one meetings.
Armstrong and Kahl were invited to participate in the exclusive summit based on their depth of experience and their firms reputation for offering unique architectural solutions. In addition, UDG was invited to attend the Asian Infrastructure & Property Development (AIDP) Summit held July 4-6, 2011 in Macao, China.
With 35 years of experience, Kahl brings a wealth of leadership and knowledge to the firm. His areas of expertise include institutional and workplace projects. Kahls work at the University of Southern California was recently awarded the 2011 Grand Prize by the Los Angeles Business Council.
Armstrong has over 30 years of experience and specializes in managing large, complex projects including resorts, entertainment venues, mixed-use developments and religious facilities. Armstrong sees strong growth potential in Latin America.
We are honored to participate in this summit because we see it as a valuable opportunity to develop long-lasting business relations in a growth-oriented region, said Ronald D. Armstrong, AIA, President and Managing Principal of Urban Design Group. In the coming years, we predict strong growth in many global markets. Once the current economic situation is stabilized, investors will put capital back into play. With global population growth, continued urban flight and the development of second and third world economics, urban project development is an absolute necessity. We are eager to lend our expertise in master planning to help attract global business and spur continued economic growth for this region.
